Let’s be clear–33 books didn’t magically appear.
I spent years learning my craft before I pushed publish. Even now I upskill whenever I have time. Which leads me to the fact that it takes a looong time to write a book. Even when books are the same word count, some simply take longer than others. There are those who write a book a month and others who manage 1 a year. My first book took several years. My last, 4 months. The difference between then and now is knowledge, belief, having a plan and deadlines. While I endeavour to write 3-4 books a year. Everything hinges on my personal life. All the deadlines in the world don’t allow for being sick or family matters. Or pandemics. One of the questions I get asked most often is ‘can anyone write a book’? The answer is yes! This is completely true, but the fact remains that only a small percentage of those who would like to, ever do. The reason? It’s hard work. I’ll talk more about that next time.
